Stefani + Matt
October 3rd, 2020

After having to change venues just two months before, Stefani and Matt decided that getting married in an intimate ceremony was more important than waiting longer for a larger wedding. Even if it wasn’t the big event they originally hoped for, there is no doubt that their big day was still absolutely stunning!

We love the rectangular arch, covered with huge floral arrangements, and the authentic look of the wooden signage and tan details for their reception. At the end of the day, the smiles on their faces show that their decision was the right one.

Why did you choose the Outer Banks for your wedding?

The reason we chose OBX for our wedding was because I have visited the Outer Banks every year since I was a young, and Matt and I have also visited each year since we’ve been together, so we knew it would be the perfect place to make these memories. We also knew we wanted a fall wedding and the OBX is beautiful in the fall, so it was a no brainer for us! Lastly, we attended the OBX wedding fest and that completely confirmed it – everyone was so incredibly friendly and helpful, we knew it would lead to a wonderful wedding planning process.

What was it like planning a wedding during a pandemic?

Planning a wedding during a pandemic is by far the most stressed I have ever been in my life. We changed venues 2 months before the wedding.  But the pandemic really helped put things in perspective on what was important in life and for our wedding, so we came to the conclusion that actually getting married and having a small intimate ceremony was more important than waiting a year or two to have a larger celebration, and it still turned out to be the perfect day.
