Tell us a little about I Do OBX. How would you describe your services?

We are an all inclusive event company that specializes in events of all sizes. Couples that choose I Do OBX have a team of professionals that provide the options of officiating, ceremony, reception & lighting design, tailored floral design, ceremony & reception rental inventory, DJ services for the ceremony and reception and multi-level coordinating services.

What type of weddings do you cater here? Large? Small? Where?

We strive to give as much time and attention to detail in every wedding that we do, whether small and intimate, or large and elaborate. Our ceremony packages are perfect for those intimate ceremonies along the sandbar with close family and friends, but we also tailor those packages for larger weddings to create a coastal dream wedding where our couples envision a week-long celebration of their love.

We provide our services from the northernmost part of Carova Beach in the four-wheel drive area to the breathtaking Cape Hatteras National Seashore.  

What should couples know before booking I Do OBX for their wedding?

Our desire is to have our couples celebrate their wedding day without worry, without stress, knowing that every detail has been thought of, planned for and designed with their vision in mind. From our ceremony packages to our tailored reception, lighting and floral design, we will create their dream day while they have the opportunity to enjoy precious time with friends and loved ones.

How long have you been involved in weddings on the Outer Banks?

I Do OBX was born out of a dream to become a more integral part of the beautiful couples that are married along our sandbar. We began our journey in February 2013, providing officiating, chair rentals and driftwood arch designs. We continued to see opportunities for the company to develop into more. Throughout the years, we found and cultivated an amazing team that understands what our couples deserve on one of the most important days of their lives. And in March of 2021, our vision was made into reality as we launched our full-service ceremony packages, reception and lighting design, tailored floral design, DJ services for ceremony and reception and multi-level coordinating services. 

We now have an all-inclusive, bespoke company that continues to bring that 5-star customer service by retaining the highest level of quality and attention to detail for all of our couples.

What makes the Outer Banks special to you?

The Outer Banks is home to our I Do OBX family. The Outer Banks is where I met the love of my life and we were married here on this beloved sandbar surrounded by our close family and friends. And now, we have the blessing of seeing many amazing couples married here, forever holding the Outer Banks in their hearts as the place where they committed their life and love to one another. 

What trends are you most excited to see in upcoming weddings?

During the pandemic, we met with couples that had to postpone their weddings multiple times, or scaled down their celebrations to an intimate elopement. We listened and empathized with their disappointments and did our very best to make their plan B, C or D the most memorable and heartfelt during those difficult times.

We are now seeing those amazing celebration plans begin again, the excitement over planning every detail, hearing that joy in their voices as they share their vision. 

That is the trend we are most excited to see in this New Year! 

What makes I Do OBX different from other vendors on the Outer Banks?

In a time where there are so many priorities in life that occupy our couples’ lives, taking the time to interview possible vendors, lengthy correspondence, requesting pricing and comparative research before planning their wedding, it can be quite overwhelming. And that’s where we are different. We are an all inclusive event company that brings calm and ease to our couples by guiding them every step of the way – from their first look, in their emotional I Do’s, to that perfect first dance as husband and wife, to the magical sparkler exit…or perhaps the end of the night pool party! Our goal is to make this time in their lives stress free by providing services tailored to fit their budget and vision. 

What is your favorite part of your job and business?

This answer is three fold. 

1. The incredible opportunity to meet so many amazing couples each year and to hear the passion in their voices as they share their love stories with us. 
2. The joy we have to witness and be a part of the beginning to their happily ever after. To see their happiness as they vow to love each other in front of their closest friends and family. 
3. The excitement for the I DO OBX Team to bring the vision and dreams of our wonderful couples to life, whether it be an intimate family gathering, or a lavish Outer Banks event.  

How do you feel being a part of the Outer Banks Wedding Association has helped I Do OBX?

The Outer Banks Wedding Association is a wonderful collective of vendors that have become friends, even family over the years. We were welcomed into this community of talented individuals, even learning from their many years of experience as we began our journey here. And many of our past couples have found us through the vendor list provided on the website and we are grateful for that.
