A spring wedding at the iconic Whalehead Club in Corolla, North Carolina, is nothing short of magical, and Megan and Alex Bloom’s celebration was the epitome of timeless romance and understated elegance. With the stunning backdrop of the historic estate and the serene Outer Banks coastline, their wedding day was filled incredible details thoughtfully curated by their team of vendors to create a fairytale setting.

“With our last name being Bloom, I wanted to really focus on the floral aspect and keep everything else very simple. We did white linen, table cloth, plates and only added pops of color in the flowers, candles, and water goblets. It felt clean and crisp,” said the bride.

A Touch of Personalization: The Watercolor Monogram

From the moment guests arrived, the personalized details took center stage. A beautiful watercolor monogram “B” detail was seen on everything from the welcome signage to some reception decor, creating a cohesive, elegant look. It added a personal touch that highlighted the couple’s love story and the uniqueness of their day.

A Floral Dream Come True

The floral arrangements were a vibrant celebration of spring. Shades of pink, soft blues, yellow, orange and peach complemented the lush green lawn and created a romantic atmosphere. The florals weren’t confined to just the bouquets and centerpieces; they were incorporated throughout the entire space, with colorful blooms added to the seating chart and other tables.

Romantic Candlelight & Dreamy Tent Design

More magic of Megan and Alex’s wedding came to life as evening fell. Their clear top tent allowed the soft glow of the setting sun to linger while string lights and candles slowly took over the space. The colorful candles in glass holders cast a warm, inviting glow across the reception, enhancing the romantic ambiance and adding a whimsical touch to the celebration. The overall effect was dreamy and intimate—perfect for their springtime nuptials.

This wedding is featured in the 2025 issue of Outer Banks Weddings magazine.
