Lindsay & Chris
October 9th, 2020Lindsay and Chris dreamt of a classic, outdoor Outer Banks wedding and their dreams came true in such a beautiful way that they will be sure to remember for a lifetime. Instead of the usual DJ or band, they opted for a dueling piano setup to keep guests entertained, but also socially distanced. Their beach ceremony was made complete with a whimsical juniper arch and a true to the OBX crab boil that will have guests reminiscing on the evening for years to come.

Why did you choose the Outer Banks for your wedding?
When we first started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to get married in a place that is special to both of us. In addition to taking several trips there together, we both grew up spending a week or more each summer on the Outer Banks. Though we didn’t know each other at the time, both of our families looked forward to that vacation all year long. We each have countless memories of those special weeks during the summer, and so we didn’t think there was a better place for another special week with our families and friends.
What was having a wedding during COVID-19 like for you?
During the height of the pandemic this past summer, we decided that if the Wright Memorial Bridge was open, that we would get married on the beach, even if it could only be the two of us and the officiant. So everything we were able to have just exceeded our expectations. We were so lucky that pre-pandemic, we had already decided that we wanted everything to be outside and that instead of the usual DJ and dance party, we wanted a dueling piano show. We think these two factors helped our guests to socially distance and stay safe. Fortunately, most of our family and friends were still able to attend, but we couldn’t be more thankful for our amazing planner and vendors who were always willing to work with us if we needed to change the plan!
