Originally planned for Corolla in May, Kimmie & Jess postponed to August and ended up in Nags Head for their Outer Banks wedding. Despite the date change, their event home wedding was still so sensational, with a pampas fan arch , a donut wall, hanging rattan decor and modern neon signage right over the sweetheart table.
From the couple:
“We chose the Outer Banks to have our wedding because simply put, it’s always been one of our favorite places to go. We come down here often and vacation regularly in the OBX, so it holds a lot of unforgettable memories and cherished times for us. With that said, when we got engaged, we thought there’s no better place where we would want to start our forever. We thought as the sun is setting on the OBX beaches, we would exchange our “I do’s” and begin the rest of our lives in one of our favorite places. The OBX is stamped into our lives, and we will continue to create memories with each other and our families in one of our most favorite places.
COVID-19 put a hindrance to our wedding plans, as it did with many other events. Everything for a while was in limbo. We did not know what to do or what direction to take because we couldn’t tell the future and were unsure what impact this virus was going to continue to have. We ultimately did have to reschedule our wedding day because of the virus. We already had the venue, date, and some vendors booked, but a decision needed to be made as to whether or not we change dates as it was approaching fast. People were still in quarantine, businesses still closed, toilet paper still gone. So finally after much consideration, we rescheduled to August 28, 2020. When we changed our dates we had to change our venue too because it was already booked that week, but luckily for us, those were the only two changes that were made. We were able to book the same vendors as previously, and then amended minor details. It put a dent in our original plans, but it didn’t change what we wanted to achieve from this day: to marry each other while surrounded by our families and friends.”
