Real Outer Banks Wedding

It’s not uncommon for couples to turn their Outer Banks wedding into a weeklong vacation for their friends and families, and that’s exactly what these lovebirds did. Gina and David turned the backyard of a large oceanfront home into a tropical, poolside bash. Using the gazebo as the altar, their guests watched from the balconies above as they exchanged vows before everyone joined them in the yard turned reception site. We know you’ll love the details from this early June wedding!

From the Couple

Please tell us more about your wedding and what made it special to you.

My husband and I grew up in different states and we both have family and friends scattered all over the county. A big priority for us when we were getting married was finding a way to get more quality time with our loved ones, and giving them an opportunity to get to know one another as we joined families. We decided to turn our wedding into a week-long vacation and booked The Atlantis and Oceans 24, two side-by-side beach houses in Kill Devil Hills. We filled the combined 48 rooms with our family and friends and got to spend an unforgettable week with everyone before finally tying the knot in the backyard of the Atlantis house. We used the 3 story decks to give our guests a front row seat to our ceremony and used the gazebo as our alter. OBX is filled with amazing vacation homes and experienced wedding vendors that allowed us to celebrate our marriage for a week with our loved ones.

Please tell us why you chose the Outer Banks for your wedding.

Finding two 24 bedroom homes side by side that will allow you to host a wedding is something that might only be available in OBX. Once we found the two beach houses, we realized how many options we had for experienced vendors that have hosted tons of weddings in beach houses. It was a perfect fit for what we wanted.
