How long have you been involved with weddings on the Outer Banks?

Steamers first opened in Corolla in 1994. We started as a dine-in restaurant that wanted to bring the feel of a metropolitan restaurant to a small town on the beach, serving local classics. Since then, we have prepared our fair share of Steamer Pots-To-Go Clambakes, and have also extended our restaurant to include both Personal Chef and Catering Services in 2006.

What makes the Outer Banks unique and special to you?

Having been a local trademark since 1994, we deeply appreciate our returning vacationers and customers. The thought that families and friends choose to dine with us, or use our services, time after time really makes us feel like we are doing something right. We also enjoy being able to support other local businesses, such as the Wanchese, NC Fishing Fleet where we obtain all of our fresh seafood. 

What separates Steamers from other local vendors?

I feel that we really do our best to go above and beyond for our customers. Through our catering website, you can request a quote with any other special requests and personalized menu options you had in mind for your wedding rehearsal, reception and everything in between. We also include preparation, service and clean-up. 

What are you most looking forward to about the 2022 Outer Banks Wedding Weekend + Expo?

There is a real sense of community here on the Outer Banks. Being able to see the other local vendors and businesses that work with weddings on the Outer Banks is such a treat. During the busy season, it is hard to make time to keep up and see how everyone else is doing. It is the perfect opportunity to build and maintain those relationships that are essential to our business. We also love seeing all of the happy brides and grooms from all over and being able to inform them about our services and how we can make their destination wedding perfect!

Do you have any advice for a couple planning on booking your catering services?

Our chef, Chris Braswell, is an artist in everything he creates. He really can take the local fresh flavors and create culinary masterpieces. Our advice would be to browse our catering menus, as well as our other menus, to figure out what you would like you and your guests to enjoy when the time comes! We are always happy to accommodate the menus, and also any dietary restrictions.
