How do I purchase tickets to the Wedding Weekend and Expo?

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online here! Tickets can also be purchased at the door on January 19th and 20th, but we suggest buying online to save time at check-in. We offer types of tickets: VIP and General Admission. All tickets allow entry into the two-day expo, and to attend the self-guided Wedding Tour. Children under the age of 12 do not have to pay to enter the Expo.

What’s the difference of a VIP versus a General Admission ticket?

VIP Bride and VIP Groom tickets are essential for entering to win our VIP giveaways! VIP ticket holders are automatically entered to win a $1,000 voucher to be used with the vendor of their choice. VIP ticket holders will receive: a nice canvas bag filled with swag and goodies from our sponsors, an Outer Banks Bride tank top or OBX Groom t-shirt, and the chance to enter into special VIP giveaway packages at the Expo. VIP tickets are $40.

General Admission tickets are perfect for those who join you for the Wedding Weekend, or for those who may not need the extra VIP perks. General Admission tickets are $20.

How to I redeem my ticket(s)?

One you purchase your tickets, you can redeem them at pre-registration on Friday, January 18, 2019, or you may redeem them at the door (VIP Ticket holders will also redeem other items at time of ticket redemption). Pre-registration is encouraged to make entering the Expo on Saturday morning a breeze!

What is “pre-registration” on Friday, January 18th?

Wedding Weekend attendees do not have to pre-register before the expo; however, we suggest you do! At pre-registration, ticket holders can redeem their tickets (a wristband) that will allow you to simply walk in to the Expo on Saturday morning. You MUST show your wristband both days to enter the Expo.

VIP ticket holders will also redeem their VIP bag and lanyard. You will also be given a copy of the Expo Guide with a map and list of vendors, Wedding Tour stops, and giveaway details. Pre-registration will be held at the OBXWA Office in Manteo from Noon until 8 p.m. (128 Grenville Street, Manteo, NC 27954)

How can I prepare before attending the Expo?

To avoid being overwhelmed on Saturday morning, do your research on our wonderful vendors! Browse our complete list of vendors, and visit our blog and social media accounts to get some inspiration from their work. View the list of expo vendors here, and try to visit as many people as possible! You never know who you’ll click with or what ideas might emerge! That’s the beauty of this event.

Come prepared with pre-made labels to save time when signing up for giveaways at vendors’ booths! Include: name, hometown, phone number, email address, and your wedding date/venue if available.

What should I expect at the Wedding Expo?

There will be over 130 vendors that are eager and excited to meet you! Come hungry as many of our catering, restaurant, and cake vendors will be serving up fresh, scrumptious samples! A lot of vendors offer booking incentives if you book them during the weekend (this is where those pre-made labels come in handy).

What is the Wedding Tour?

The Wedding Tour is a self-guided open house-like tour. Various venues, restaurants, hotels and business throughout the Outer Banks will host Wedding Weekend attendees on Saturday the 19th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. All attendees are encouraged to go on the Wedding Tour! Note: transportation is NOT provided.

This is the perfect opportunity to visit venues (many are set up like a wedding!), and to meet vendors in a more intimate setting. Wedding Weekend attendees will be given a list by town of all the businesses participating in the Wedding Tour.

The Wedding Tour is essential for VIP ticket holders to collect “stickers” from each stop they attend. Each sticker can be redeemed for entries into the giveaway packages at the Expo on Sunday. VIP Ticket holders should bring the VIP lanyard with them, as the VIP card is where you will put your stickers!

Is it possible to visit all of the venues and businesses participating on the Wedding Tour?

While we believe anything is possible, it’s very unlikely that you could visit every business. There are Tour stops from Manteo to the Carova 4×4, and many spots in between. However, we do encourage you to attend as many stops as possible to meet with vendors and enjoy exploring the OBX!
