The Couple
Caroline + Matt
April 27, 2024
For Caroline and Matt, a beach wedding was a must given the bride’s family connection to the OBX.
“The beach is a happy place for my family and me. We look forward to our OBX vacation each year. Since Matt and I started dating, he has been able to join us on these trips. We knew we wanted to take advantage of its natural beauty,” said Caroline. So they decided to have a beach ceremony, and celebrate their nuptials overlooking the ocean. “You can’t beat the views of the OBX!”
They paired nature-inspired details with DIY projects—childhood photos as table numbers and a custom OBX logo featured on stationery and favors. The couple wanted to incorporate as many personalized touches and maximize the fun experiences for their guests on their wedding day.
During the recessional, guests cheered and tossed beach balls in the air. Then, the entire party made their way to the end of the pier for a drone flyover, where they celebrated with a pod of dolphins swimming by. They partied the night away in the pier and soaked in an incredible day at an exceptionally meaningful place.
“Feeling closest to my (late) dad at the beach, I knew I wanted to walk down the aisle with the sand between my toes. While Matt and I exchanged vows, I began to feel the sun on my shoulders and knew it was a hug from my dad.”
