After months of stressful pandemic wedding planning, Katie & Brendan’s dream day seemed to fall into place once they hit the pause button. Their goal was for a dreamy, safe and intimate beach wedding and did they sure succeed! Even when it came down to their wedding day, complete with pouring rain and strong winds, they were still able to celebrate and get dressed up again a few days later for a few more spectacular photos.

Why did you choose the Outer Banks for your wedding?

The Outer Banks has always held such special memories for us, both individually and as a couple. It was no question, after Brendan proposed in Corolla, we wanted our wedding day to be another unforgettable memory in our favorite place. We feel so incredibly lucky to have shared our special day on the beautiful beaches of the Outer Banks!

What was it like planning a wedding during a pandemic?

To put it lightly, planning a wedding during 2020 was stressful and uncertain. We could write a book on pandemic wedding planning.

How difficult it has been, the postponing from summer to fall, the judgement, cutting our guest list in half, missing so many of our loved ones on our big day, it was truly an emotional rollercoaster. While following constantly changing state guidelines, the safety of our guests was our number one priority. It was no longer about the perfect wedding dress, centerpieces and menu tastings. With the support of our family, friends, and incredible vendor team, we were still able to have the most stunning, dreamy, safe and intimate beach wedding. Covid aside, we truly feel this was the wedding we were meant to have. We just feel so incredibly grateful and appreciative to have made yet another unforgettable memory in the Outer Banks.
