Alexandra grew up on the Outer Banks, so when it came time to choose where to get married, she knew she had to share one of her favorite places with her friends and family. Not only did their guests get to experience a beautiful October day on the grounds at Whalehead, but every detail of their wedding was to the nines. From the lounge seating and spectacular florals, to the divine cake and fresh seafood, their elegant soiree was like something out of a dream.

See the video and photos captured during their wedding day below.

From the Couple

Tell us more about your wedding and what made it special to you.

Our wedding was delayed a year because of COVID, so it provided a wonderful excuse to see all of our friends and family for the first time in almost two years. There was a lot of pent up demand for a big party, so we brought in an incredible band, Oxford Soul, to keep the dance floor packed all night. Our vendors all did such an amazing job setting the scene for a true fairytale rager. Many of our guests told us they felt like they were in a movie. The wild Outer Banks weather only added to the surreal nature of the evening.

Why did you choose the Outer Banks for your wedding?

I was lucky enough to grow up on the Outer Banks, and even though I don’t live there now, it will always be a special place for me. We live in New York City, and most of our friends and family are spread out all over the country. So, no matter where we got married, it would be a destination wedding. This was a hometown destination wedding for us. I couldn’t wait to share the Outer Banks with all of our friends and family traveling in for the weekend. It is truly a unique place, and our guests made the most of their weekend on the OBX!
